“When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.” -Author Unknown
Thanks for your prayers. My dad is feeling a bit better, he is off the ventilator, has a bit of pneumonia in his chest. They will keep him in the hospital for a few more days to monitor his recovery.
This has been a rough few days; first my husband falls off a ladder, and breaks his ribs. Then they find my dad in his car unconscious. Sometimes life is sure rough. I am glad that Jesus is our light and refuge in the time of the storm.
To see a world in a grain of sand And heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour.

November trip.
I took a few days vacation from work to enjoy the last days of autumn, to get away from the big city, to enjoy my family and kiss my little ones more often.
Then on Friday my husband fell off a ladder and broke his ribs. So there goes my vacation plans. But we still got away for a day into the mountains and breathed the cold crisp air, looked at beauty and thanked God for his generosity with the colors of autumn. My husband stayed in a hotel room and rested with our 9 month old baby girl, while I went on long walks with my 5 year old, and my 2 1/2 year old. We had a nice time.
On our way back we stopped at a little river where the trees were majestically golden, after resting a bit and smelling the wonderful scent of dry leaves and grass, wet earth and rocks we continued home.
Its nice to be home and nothing makes you appreciate your own bed, and your own space as going away into a tiny hotel room, where we all had to share one room, and the not so comfortable beds of the hotel.
So everything went well, if I don’t count that the trip was cut short due to my husbands injury, my 2 year olds crying and wanting to go home in the middle of the night, my 5 year old throwing up on our way home all over my car, and the baby not wanting to sit in her car seat, and cried every time she had to sit in there.... But it was nice to get away... Thank God I am home...:)

The tree of good and evil.
..Your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked… {Genesis 3:5-6}
I wonder if still do that…. See something that looks good to eat or to have, that is pleasant to our eyes, and we think it gives us wisdom, when in truth its nothing more then an illusion or something that can only bring us despair and possibly death.
I wonder if there are things in my life that bring me knowledge of good and evil. Sometimes just evil. Maybe some TV shows don’t bring me any good knowledge but only evil? Or some books? Magazines? Anything else? Just a question that popped into my head as I started to read Genesis again.
There are a lot of things in this life that may seem pretty and satisfying when in truth are only there to make us think that we are satisfied and happy. Or they give only temporary relief and enjoyment. I am here to find the long lasting satisfaction that only comes from the Lord who has the water of life, and we will never thirst again.

Pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving.
I am eating cherry pie with vanilla ice cream tonight for desert. I believe ice cream doesn’t really go with this kind of pie... but the pie was hot, and I wanted cool it down... I just had a craving for pie for the past few weeks, it must be nearing the time for Thanksgiving, and pumpkin pie... We took the girls to the pumpkin patch and I wanted to share a few pictures...
And this one is even better, laughing at each other... wonderful memories to enjoy.
Leona wasnt sure if she liked the pumpkins, she couldnt put them in her mouth...:)
All three girls enjoying the view. With funny faces, they just make me laugh when I look at this picture.
I believe Odelia got tired after a bit... wanted to take her nap right there... The girls were so happy on our little trip that Odelia couldn’t seem to stop saying 'thank you' to us, and 'thank you' to God... especially after we had some lunch and had delicious apple pie for desert. Its precious when our children’s hearts are thankful for every little thing that we as parents provide for them. Are we as thankful to our heavenly Father for every little and big thing that he supplies us with? Every year we go around the table at Thanksgiving dinner and ask what everyone are thankful for. You can really feel the gratitude of some people who cherish each moment we have on this earth, for each little blessing, for even every tear. For tears bring us closer to the love of God and to His everlasting presence.

The rules to live by.
Delight yourself in the Lord like you delight yourself in your favorite things that you love doing.
Hear God everyday when you take a walk, in the whisper of the wind.
Confide in him every moment; tell him your secrets, your fears, your struggles.
Be still and wait on him in the quiet of the night, as well as in the middle of a busy day.
Cry to him like a small child wanting comfort, understanding and forgiveness. Be redeemed as he washes your soul clean.
Ask Him to restore the joy of your salvation…
Enjoy the fullness of his love, joy, and mercy.
Thank Him for the everyday pleasures that he provides for you to see, to hear, and to feel… have you noticed any lately?

Let the light shine...
I am driving to work in heavy traffic, people try to cut in front of me, I let them… I am called to be gentle not aggressive, even in my driving. There are so many people who are not gentle, who are rude, mean, or bitter. We as Christians should be able to shine the light, to show Jesus in our life. To shine through the love we have for him. It’s hard to do that when you don’t have the love of god in your soul; it’s hard to bring something you don’t feel. To give something you don’t have to give.
God gives us joy, love, peace and a place to rest our weary souls in our daily walk of life. He is here for me and for you so we can be here for others and afterwards we can spread it to all and show them our light that comes from within.
So let the light shine forth from our face and heart, into others. When we are driving, when we are taking a walk, when we are cooking and our little ones are distracting us, and when we just don’t agree with our husband… let the light of Jesus shine through.
