Unpredictable summer.

Who knew? I mean did anyone could even fathom that this time will come in our life that we are not sure if we can have a summer vacation with all the uncertainties and so many restrictions on travel and having fun. Corona virus has really left its mark on the whole world, people are not only scared to travel, but are even scared to acknowledge each other and shaking hands is something from the past. Life is scary for some, like the elderly and the immune depressed, how will they go on?

With all the restrictions, I still want to have summer! The weather is heating up here in California, and the lakes and beaches are calling my name. Who even wants to stay home, with the air conditioner running full blast? Yes, we do need to abide by all the precautions that they recommend, but life must go on, life must be enjoyed.

Summer is here.

Now that the temperatures are in their 100s here in California, summer officially is here.
Summer is the stuff of dreams.
When adults sit at their desks, and children sit in school, they dream of summer.
Summer is the time of infinite fun. The day seems to last forever, and the fun never stops.
It is a time of romance, excitement and an enhanced enjoyment of life.
Somehow summer never seems to last long enough.
It is always over before we get a chance to fully experience its power.
This is true of all things wonderful. They always seem too short.

Only memories remain of summer....

Summer is almost gone, only memories remain... of hot long days, blue skies, there are so many things that spell summer for us....like fresh garden vegetables...
traveling, ocean, sand, salt air....
naked feet and swimming of course....
berries from the garden and a fruit cobbler from the goodness....
summer warm evenings, sunsets...
some garden fresh cantaloupes....
some elk viewing....
more flowers in my garden....
sand dunes by the beach....
and more beautiful summer flowers... cant have too many of those:)
love summer... but its almost gone, good thing I love autumn as well...:)

Summer.

Summer is here to stay. Life is busy, I am working full time, my husband is home with his broken ribs, watching the girls. I try to enjoy summer with my girls, bringing them as much fun as we can manage, and I am glad that little things, like sprinklers and ice cream makes for a fun day for the girls...:)

What does summer mean to you? Pretty flowers....
Strawberries over ice scream...

I cut strawberies up, sprinkle with sugar, cook for about 10 minutes, and then we pour over vanilla ice cream or short cake... um, so good.

We had our fill of snap peas... so fresh and crispy.

Water is a nessesity during the summer. Nothing can survive without water, not even little girls..;)

And finally, summer is all about resting, soaking in the sun, and enjoying the beauty of a hot summer day, that God has blessed us with.

One of my favorite things.... sunshine.

The peach, pink, and baby blue light filtering through the early hours of the morning, waking me out of my comfy bed. The golden sunrise, grand and majestic as it rises in the early sky. The day is fresh, the air is sweet. I had to wake up 1 hour earlier today, and drive to work at 6:30am. Got to see the beautiful day waking up. I love the early hours, it makes waking up so early worth it. The sunshine warms my face and heals all the coldness surrounding my heart.

‘Jesus replied: 'If anyone loves me he will cherish my word; my Father will love him and we will come to him and make him our abode.
John 14:23’

Such promise to hold on to. He will love us, He will come to us, and make a home with us. If only we cherish his word. If only we love him. Love is such an amazing feeling, we all thrive when we are loved. Like a flower that turns its petals to the sun, that’s how we need the love of God. He is our sun and shield. It means we will not get sunburned if we sit in his presence and soak up the warm sunshine. God is light, and whoever walks to him will see all the darkness of their souls revealed in his light.

This morning I listened to the radio, and Avalon came up. It went something like this: If you were not here tomorrow, I can not go on. If you were not here today, I can not survive.

So true. God is my sunshine, my light.
