If you only read one book this summer, you should read one by an old author who wrote many books about positive thinking. I am loving it! He has quite many of them. Here are a few I love.
Have a great day!
Stay alive all your life.
and The power of positive thinking.
I am sure you will love them too.
To see a world in a grain of sand And heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour.

The power of positive thinking.
I went to the library the other day to get the book I ordered earlier last week. As soon as I was notified that it arrived, I rushed to get it... Its called The power of positive thinking. I started to read it last night, and so far, I find it pretty interesting. Its based on a Christian way of thinking, which I love, and it has a lot of interesting ideas. Here are some just from the first chapter.
1. Believe in yourself. Read & repeat the words from Philippians 4:13~~
"I can do all things through him who strengthens me."
2. The greatest secret for eliminating deep and profound self-doubt, is to fill your mind to overflowing with faith. Develop a tremendous faith in God and that will give you a humble yet soundly realistic faith in yourself.
3. The acquiring of dynamic faith is accomplished by lots of prayer, by reading and absorbing the Bible, and by practicing its faith techniques.
4. Ordinary problems could be met by ordinary prayers, but when 'big problems' come along, we need to pray deep prayers. To get anywhere with faith, you need to learn to pray big prayers, for God rates us according to the size of our prayers, for scriptures say, "According to your faith be it unto you". (Matthew 9:29)
Those were just some of the points that I found interesting. A lot of us have self doubt, which sometimes hurts our chances at true happiness and freedom. I hope you will find for your self the many points he shows us in his book, and you don't even have to buy the book, just order it from the library. :)

The pursuit of God.
Thanksgiving has come and gone, with leftovers of turkey, mashed potatoes and appetizers stored in the fridge. The blessing of getting together with family and friends has turned out to be a great success, with much laughter, loud discussions, and children screams, as they run around, bellies full of turkey, chocolate and sweets. Everything turned out very nice, if you dont count the slightly burnt turkey, the spilled juice over the childrens table, or the garbage can overflowing with many plastic dishes, and leftovers spilling on the kitchen floor. (Not counting a 22 month old clinging to me, wanting to be held and carried as I carried dishes and hot tea to the table.)
Lately I have been wondering on how to serve God, how to seek Him in my everyday life. It seems like when I have to work, and do my daily duties, I seem to forget that God exists, I concentrate on my daily task at hand and forget that an amazing God is close by my side. I forget to seek Him in my every day life, and only when I am at church on my knees that I realize how the week has passed in so much confusion, so much bussiness and hardly any seeking after God at all. I feel drained and tired by the end of the week, I feel like I am missing God so badly, I havent experienced Him all week with the bussiness of everyday life. It makes me sad that the big portion of the week has passed by and it seems like it is all such a waste of time.
I have been reading this interesting book and wanted to share a little bit of it with you. Its called 'The pursuit of God, by A.W. Tozer,' here is what I read this morning:
'We can meet this successfully only by the exercise of an aggressive faith. We must offer all our acts to God and believe that He accepts them. Then hold firmly to that position and keep insisting that every act of every hour of the day and night be included in that transaction. Keep reminding God in our times of private prayer that we mean every act for His glory; then supplement those times by a thousand thought-prayers as we go about the job of living. Let us practice the fine art of making every work a priestly ministration. Let us believe that God is in all our simple deeds and learn to find Him there.'
That really openened my eyes to the amazing chance at living our everyday life for the glory of God, isnt it a wonderful opportunity to include Him and bring more praise to His holy name?

What does your book say about you?
Sometimes we fill our hours with empty things. I do a lot of that. The things that don’t really fill me up, the things that don’t let me grow, just empty calories, like junk food. The time is ticking, an hour gone, a day has passed, what do I have to show for it? What will be written in the book of Life, when I die? If every hour is an empty breath, and every day is a lost dream, what will I show to HIM, the Owner of me, when I come before Him? Empty promises? Unsolved problems? Unfulfilled dreams? Buried treasure of my soul?
Every time we do a good, kind deed, its like a flower in bloom, the fragrance of it will reach the heavens, and it will bear fruit. Also, every time instead of replying to someone in a mean, sharp way we choose to use a kind, loving way we are doing a beautiful, kind thing. Your book of life will not be empty. So lets be more kind to each other, more loving to our husbands, more forgiving to strangers, and teaching our children to be nice, and kind, and helpful, then our day will not go in vain. Then it means that this day has left a mark, maybe on someone’s soul, but mostly in your book of life.
Lets be like this tree.... blooming, the smell of spring in the air.
To Do List From God
I ran my life in search of worldly things;
My time and will were firmly in control.
I thought I had no need for what God brings;
I gave no heed to murmurs from my soul.
“You’re planning, doing all the time,” it said,
“But something else is missing deep inside.
Your mind is whirling, but your heart is dead,
So turn to God and let go of your pride.”
I did, and God said, “Here’s My plan for you:
Give your life to Me, and just let go.
Have faith and pray, and read the Bible through,
And you’ll have blessings more than you can know.”
So simple, yet it brings me perfect peace,
Living life for God the way I should.
Direction, purpose, fullness and release—
Life with God is very, very good.

I thee wed...
What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life, to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories of the moment of the last parting?
George Eliot
The white Cinderella dress. The lovely gossamer veil. The white satin shoes. The special bouquet of flowers. The walk down the aisle. The ‘I do's’… The forever after.
What makes a man and a woman fall in love, get married and have children? Everyone I know are always either looking for that perfect mate, already in a relationship, or married. That’s how God made us, we need to love and be loved. To be desired. Most of us want to have a little child, our offspring. Most of us found that perfect someone to share their life with. Some people are still looking. Others cant find that one perfect person, with all the qualities they must have.
Its so special how we fall in love. The most common way for a man and a woman to get married, is when they fall in love. Sweet love. How long does it last? Forever? Like it says in the bible Love never fails.
But so many people are having marriage problems. Why is that?
This month its my 9 year marriage anniversary. Its amazing how the years just flew by, and now 9 years and 3 kids later we are still together. We had our precious, joyful moments. And we had our rough patches. Its funny sometimes to look back at myself as the young girl who got married, with stars in her eyes, and hopes for a future filled with everlasting happiness. I believe most of us feel like that, we are just unprepared for the dry patches in our garden of love, of harsh words, of selfishness, or not understanding the person you married to. As a christian its against my upbringing to divorce, unless he cheats on me, so no matter how the rough patches are rubbing me, or how upset I am at my husband I still have to stick it out, get help, or work on it myself.
Thank God I got blessed with a perfect husband… Not. He is human and so am I. I am not perfect, far from it, but a lot of times I demand my dear husband be perfect. Did you notice that men don’t like to be told what they should be doing…? I finally got it, and instead of working on his character, or his “bad” traits, I started to work on my own. Wow… sometimes its funny how blind we- as women can be. As soon as I started to work on my self, to not criticize what my husband is doing, and not boss him around, my life turned for the better and the love we shared in the first years of marriage came back stronger then before. Instead of seeing the negative aspects of my marriage, now I see the good and the positive. Oh, and what a difference it makes. It just brings so much beauty into the marriage relationship.
The books that opened my eyes are called:
‘Woman- aware and choosing’, by Betty Coble. & ‘Fascinating womanhood’, by Helen Andelin. Some aspects of the books I don’t really agree on, but the whole concept is amazing. Try and read for yourself, it can never hurt. I wish all of you are having great marriages. Let me know how you handle the dry patches....
